It seems that this weeks epidemic that will kill us all is the Swine Flu. After a while we just get numb to all the cry wolf mentality from the government and the news media. Is the Swine Flu really a problem here in the United States?
According to the CDC nearly 36,000 people die each year from influenza related complications. As of today, 40 people have gotten sick from the Swine Flu in the U.S. 40 People!!! All this for 40 people getting sick?
Bottom line is that the people that have died live in a third world country (Mexico) and do not have the immunity and medical care that we enjoy in this country. I’m curious if those from Mexico are being stopped and tested. It’s surely not happening at the border crossings as they continue to flood into our country. The Great Illuminator has a great post on this subject.
I wonder what will be next. I suppose anything to take attention away from the dismal performance in the first 100 days of the Obama administration.
Now where’s my pork steak?
Of course, that is just my opinion.
