Larouche Plant Disrupts Frank Town Hall Meeting

thehitlersignIt seems that the Town Hall format has become yet another tool of the left to try and make conservatives look like kooks.  Many of the Hitler references seem to be coming from a single source – Larouche PAC.   A great example of this organization and it’s supporters is highlighted in one of the Town Hall meetings held by Democratic Representative Barney Frank.

I’ll bet most people know very little about Lyndon LaRouche other than the name.    The LaRouche history really begins with the democratic party and veers off in a goofy direction.  He has run for President a variety of times and his views tend to go the fascism direction.  Overall, these people that support LaRouche are more often on the left end of the spectrum – pretty far left.  They are not mainstream within the left wing, they are left wing kooks.  Probably left of left wing kooks.

I think the comparisons of Obama to Hitler are plain idiotic and should be put on the crazy train (sorry Ozzy).  We could have a discussion on if certain policies mimic those of Germany in the early part of the century, but calling him a Nazi is a little off kilter.

The curious thing I see is that the news programs and stories that I have watched and read don’t really delve into what a Lyndon LaRouche supporter believes.  Maybe I’m a conspiracy nut, but it would seem to the average viewer that this is just another right-wing GOP zealot hell-bent on creating a ruckus at a Town Hall meeting.   Am I wrong on this one?

Of Course, this is just my opinion.

  1. You have got to be kidding me… The right does not take ownership for its message and its actions.

For weeks, the right, including Palin, Rush, Glenn Beck and countless others have been associating Obama with Hitler and death panels. It’s been storming Town Halls with vocal protests.

Now suddenly you find it loony — even a plot by the left to make the right look bad.

No sir, the right worked hard to look loony. Now you are as loony as the LaRouche people. Nice work Rush and Palin.

So let’s see where the right is score wise:

    — Obama is Kenyan

    — Obama health care is nazism

    — Obama didn’t make up enough jobs (your post)

    — Obama is lying about jobs (hey, that was your post)

How about helping the economy instead of all of this loony talk.

    • Your hard to keep up with Mike. I take it this is your life to comment on insignificant rant blogs on the internet. I guess everyone needs a hobby.

Your comments are all over the map and not real coherent (in my book.) I’ll try my best to address your points, but I am getting sleepy.

Now suddenly you find it loony — even a plot by the left to make the right look bad.

Maybe I should have rephrased the first sentence just with you in mind to read “far-left.” All better now?

      Obama is Kenyan

I believe this was the loony far right birthers (I think they covered that topic on one of the others sites you regularly comment on). I’ll have to say that this whole thing could have been avoided by producing the birth certificate before the election. Kind of like Clinton should have owned up to the affair. The issue would have died – but like the Kenyan thing. I never really put much stock in the Kenya thing myself even though I have been asked about it several times privately by people not really involved in any type of politics.

      Obama health care is nazism

I don’t have a handle on who said what, nor to I care, but I think what I did hear (or read) is a comparison to some health program pushed by the Nazi’s. I’m not versed in this so I can’t discuss it. The Nazi thing seems to have been the LaRouche supporters as far as I can tell and they are not right wingers. I did state that these people were on the fringes (see post above). Loony left I think I said in addition to several other adjectives. Were you protesting when Bush was called a Nazi? Just asking. I don’t think either characterization is accurate (Bush or Obama).

Obama didn’t make up enough jobs (your post)

I don’t think that was the point of that post. Government can never make jobs (well, I guess they could in a complete socialist state, but we’re not there – yet). They can make it easier for jobs to be created. The economy will come back despite the efforts of the government. I’ve said several times before (and I’m sure you’ll point those times out) that some things just need to fail to get better. Printing money and giving away gobs of money do not teach fiscal discipline, but I suppose it’s like the strung out drug dealer selling product to the junkie. These solutions will only prolong the strife.

Obama is lying about jobs (hey, that was your post)

      Hey, no it wasn’t.

The point of that post was that the problem (unemployment numbers) are far worse than reported. I would agree with your point (shocker!) that it is probably the media not reporting the numbers that are out there – but Obama had a chance to correct the record in his speech but did not. Like I said before, I don’t blame him. Any good news right now is good for him.

I know you still think there is some kind of vast right wing conspiracy with the Town Hall meetings. It seems that there is some type of effort (albeit a loose one) to organize people so they know what is going on – but that happens on both sides. Frankly, the left wing groups (ACORN, Unions, Organizing for America, etc.) are much more organized than any right wing group could ever dream of being. They have more practice. I’m sure there have been people planted from both sides of the aisle, but I don’t buy the line that it’s a conspriacy on either end. You are not telling me that there were not plants from the left at any of these rallies, hmm?

I love the Rush, Palin, Beck blame game. Very original.

And no, I’m not kidding you. (I guess I should have answered that in the beginning.)

  3. Nice of you to throw your entire post under the bus.

My message remains: the right invoked Hitler and now owns that space. The nuance that they are now trying to spin is that it was just like some program and not really Hitler. Excuse me if that nuance and fine line is lost on the average citizen.

You know, or at least should know, that Rush, Palin, and Beck all pushed the Hitler/euthanasia thing. Now the right owns that space. Owns, as in not throw blame on the left.

On jobs, you still don’t understand the jobs thing. Sad. Obama is discussing the U3, as definition that goes back several lifetimes before you. Why you would think he would go into a dissertation on the statistical methods to suit your specific need for data is way beyond me.

Here’s the part that I think you do not get: The U3 cannot be changed. It is used for month-to-month comparisons. That’s what the U5 was created.

    • Nice of you to throw your entire post under the bus.

      I didn’t.

You know, or at least should know, that Rush, Palin, and Beck all pushed the Hitler/euthanasia thing. Now the right owns that space. Owns, as in not throw blame on the left.

The Hitler thing owned by the right is a little sensational, but whatever you think Mike. As far as the death panels, I really don’t think that is too far off. Maybe a little sensational on their part, but I don’t know how we can get around rationing. Yes, I realize that the current “plan” is not specifically government control of the health care system, but there have been several instances just this week where legislators indicated their interest in a single payer system. Who is fooling who here? We’ll see if it ever comes to pass, but that is the ultimate goal of some in Congress.

On jobs, you still don’t understand the jobs thing. Sad. Obama is discussing the U3, as definition that goes back several lifetimes before you. Why you would think he would go into a dissertation on the statistical methods to suit your specific need for data is way beyond me.

Sorry to disappoint you. I think I’ve explained my end of things above. If that means I’ll get an “F” from Professor Mike, so be it. The point, which was lost on you, is that the initial figures reported are too low and non-representative of the overall unemployment picture. Simple point that you took to an extreme.

  4. You have been taking Obama to task for speaking about the U3 numbers. That formula that has been in use for 25 years or more and represents a number of unemployment. It is used for month-to-month comparison.

What is so difficult about that description for you to grasp? Why is there a need for everyone to change what figure they use to suit your notion of what unemployment means?

And why is it that, after being told that the government publishes the data you want and being told where to look, do you persist on blaming everyone else for your oversight?

As far as throwing your own post under the bus, you refer to your own post as an “insignificant rant blogs on the internet.”

Really? Your Obama rant insignificant now. I call that throwing your post under the bus.
