The Indoctrination of our Children

Maybe it’s just me, but the groups of children singing praises to Obama are just a tad creepy.  I wonder what would have happened if the reverse was going on – singing praises to Bush.

Where are the parents here?  If this was going on at my childs school I would be up there asking, “Why?”

Of course, this is just my opinion.

‘Katrina Kids’ Sing to Laura Bush: ‘Congress, Bush and FEMA…Have Come to Rebuild Us’

of course, Bush didn’t rebuild much.

I don’t support children praising any president. I think a healthy detachment from any party or politician is a good thing. I am also not very fond of partisan blogs. I find that mindless devotion to a single point of view regardless of teh facts to undermine Democracy, but that’s just my opinion.

That must be it! How can I think you for the diagnosis!Do you do anything else during your typical day other than drag up old videos?

I don’t support children praising any president. I think a healthy detachment from any party or politician is a good thing.

    I would agree.

I am also not very fond of partisan blogs.

That explains the reason why you regularly (sorry, hourly) post comments on partisan blogs.

I find that mindless devotion to a single point of view regardless of teh facts to undermine Democracy, but that’s just my opinion.

Actually, that is what Democracy is all about. If you want to have an opinion then you can have it regardless of your view of the “facts.” I thought you knew this!

You are welcome to start your own “fact based” blog. I’m actually waiting for you to take the punge. It is all free and it is obvious that you spend a lot of time online. Why not post your opinions on your own site in addition to mine and others?

  3. It wasn’t so long ago that Democracy was about what’s good for the country. Now the Republicans are all about wacko theories and fear.

  4. It wasn’t so long ago that Democracy was about what’s good for the country.

That all depends on your perspective Mike. What you believe is best for the country is not shared by others. You think you are right. I think I am right. You always have your own set of facts that you believe to be genuine. I disagree with you 99% of the time. So be it. I sleep very well and don’t worry about your side of the equation. Democracy in action.

Now the Republicans are all about wacko theories and fear.

It’s that mythical right wing conspiracy. When all else fails, go back to the 90’s and dredge up the old talking points. Ahh, keep spinning the same old drivel, I enjoy reading it all!

Still waiting on the URL of your blog.

  5. There is a huge difference between the wacko theories put forth by Republicans today and what Republicans stood for in the 60’s and 70’s. Imagine if Obama was in Nixon’s position and trying to open up to China. How apoplexic would today’s Republicans become?

That is the ridiculous state of teh Republican party and fellow conservatives like yourself.

By wacko theories I do not mean the right wing conspiracy theory touted by some, but how interesting that you of all people would go there. Very interesting.

Instead, I feel that there is a kind of cut-and-paste mentality to conservative blogging. Find an interesting article, cut and past it into your own blog, and do absolutely no further reading, research, or thinking about it.

Democracy is about debating disagreements. It should be as it was in the past about facts, reason, and logic. It has become, at least on the right, about fear.

  6. Yup, that’s me, the wacko conservative.

By wacko theories I do not mean the right wing conspiracy theory touted by some, but how interesting that you of all people would go there. Very interesting.

Seemed to fit your general comment since it was in the news. Funny how the timing of words seems to all fit together.

Instead, I feel that there is a kind of cut-and-paste mentality to conservative blogging. Find an interesting article, cut and past it into your own blog, and do absolutely no further reading, research, or thinking about it.

I’m guessing this is the talking point for the day as I read pretty much the same comment on The Great Illuminator.

Like I keep saying, get your own blog and pontificate your ideals the way you want. You won’t change the way we do things on our own sites. Like the President if fond of saying, get some skin in the game Mike.

  7. You managed to avoid pretty much all of my comments, that Republicans today aren’t like responsible Republicans of the 60’s and 70s, how Republicans today would have reacted if Obama was in Nixon’s position and wanted to open up to China, and more.

Like I said, that is the ridiculous state of the Republican party and fellow conservatives like yourself.

  8. I believe I adequately answered your comments.

  9. Not really

    – I said: “Imagine if Obama was in Nixon’s position and trying to open up to China. How apoplexic would today’s Republicans become? That is the ridiculous state of the Republican party and fellow conservatives like yourself.”

    – your answer: ignore.

    – I said: “Find an interesting article, cut and past it into your own blog, and do absolutely no further reading, research, or thinking about it.”

    – your answer: favorite word of the day (good avoidance)

    – I said: “Democracy is about debating disagreements. It should be as it was in the past about facts, reason, and logic. It has become, at least on the right, about fear.”

    – your answer: ignore.

I guess you haven’t even begun to answer my comments.

  10. Just because you don’t think so does not mean I did not answer your questions.

I don’t accept the premise that the Republicans (and conservatives like myself as you put it) are in some type of ridiculous state.

Yes I do find interesting articles and videos, put them into my blog and usually make a comment. Sometimes it is long, sometimes not. Who cares? I thought you didn’t like partisan blogs but you keep coming back like an old penny. Interesting.

I realize that you need things in neat packages answered one by one, but this time you’ll have to go back and look at my previous answers.

  11. Actually you didn’t. The entire question on how would conservatives today react if Obama were in Nixon’s shoes is central to the question of whether Republicans are out of touch (as in la la land, wackos, or what have you).

From this you might ask yourself, why do Democrats react differently than Republicans?

Your post was about indoctrination of children, never mind that you didn’t research it sufficiently to see there were examples on the net that describe your complaint, except that they were about Bush. Your partisan blog is like a one sided indoctrination – that ‘s the part that I don’t like.

I suspect that you don’t answer the question because you don’t have an answer.

  12. Hmmmmm…. video is gone… imagine that.
