Obama Green Czar a 9-11 Truther ***UPDATE*** Jones Was Tricked into Signing 9-11 Truther Petition

vanjones1Many people, including myself, have a problem with the whole White House Czar thing.  Unelected and unconfirmed with limited oversight by any government agency, other than the White House, seems to be an extreme power grab.  Not to mention many of these czar’s seem to be, in my humble opinion, payback positions for past loyalty.  Now, this is not new concept in the political world, but still disturbing to this blogger.

The Gatway Pundit, always on top of the most relevant issues, highlighted the link between the new Green Czar, Van Jones, as a 9-11 Truther.  Those of you who don’t know what a 9-11 Truther is, these people feel that the Bush Administration caused the 9-11 attacks to perpetuate a war in Iraq.  These people are the extreme left-wing and I do not believe they represent main stream liberals, but I wonder why there is limited coverage on these screwballs while the “birthers” are highlighted on page one.  Just asking the question.

911 Truth Statement

Respected Leaders and Families Launch 9/11 Truth Statement Demanding Deeper Investigation into the Events of 9/11

NEW YORK CITY, NY (Oct. 26, 2004) – An alliance of 100 prominent Americans and 40 family members of those killed on 9/11 today announced the release of the 911 Truth Statement, a call for immediate inquiry into evidence that suggests high-level government officials may have deliberately allowed the September 11th attacks to occur. The Statement supports an August 31st Zogbypoll that found nearly 50% of New Yorkers believe the government had foreknowledge and “consciously failed to act,” with 66% wanting a new 9/11 investigation.

Focusing on twelve questions, the Statement highlights areas of incriminating evidence that were either inadequately explored or ignored by the Kean Commission, ranging from insider trading and hijacker funding to foreign government fore warnings and inactive defenses around the Pentagon. The Statement asks for four actions: an immediate investigation by New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer, Congressional hearings, media analysis, and the formation of a truly independent citizens-based inquiry.

The Statement’s list of signatories includes notables spanning the political spectrum, from Presidential candidates Ralph Nader, Michael Badnarik, and David Cobb to Catherine Austin Fitts, a member of the first Bush administration, as well as Washington veterans like Pentagon   Daniel Ellsberg and retired CIA analyst Ray McGovern. Other signers range from peace activists like Code Pink president Jodie Evans and Global Exchange’s Kevin Danaher to former US Ambassador and Chief of Mission to Iraq, Edward L. Peck; from environmentalists like Randy Hayes and John Robbins to business leaders such as Paul Hawken and Karl Schwartz, CEO of Patmos Nanotechnologies; from populist journalist Ronnie Dugger to renowned investigative reporter Kelly Patricia O’Meara.

The Statement also includes 43 noted authors, including New York Times #1 bestseller John Gray, as well as 18 eminent professors, historians, and theologians. Other notables include five-term Georgia Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney, singers Michelle Shocked and Michael Franti, and actors Ed Asner and Mimi Kennedy.

Also included on said list was none other than Van Jones, White House Green Czar.  Interesting.  I wonder what the response from the media would be if President Bush would have put forth some right-wing radical that pushed for the murder of abortion doctors?  I’ll guarantee Keith Olbermann would have made him the “Worst Person in the World.”

***UPDATE***

Over the weekend new Green Czar, Van Jones, resigned his position.  I’m sure it was “encouraged” by the White House due to his sketchy past with Communism, left-wing radicals and 9-11 truthers.  This morning on FoxNews Sunday, Howard Dean indicated that Mr. Jones was tricked into signing the 9-11 Truther petition.

OK, right Dr. Dean.  And for his next trick, Mr. Jones will have monkeys fly out of his butt.

Dick Cheney For President

I wish all politicians had the outlook that Dick Cheney has on most issues.

Chris Wallace interviewing Cheney:

One thing you can’t acuse Cheney of is of not being upfront on his opinions and experiences.  We need people not afraid of speaking their mind, but I doubt we will ever get anyone like that until they are out of office.

Glenn Beck Advertiser Boycott A Potential Gold Mine

beckpointingGlenn Beck has come under excruciating fire for expressing his opinion.  He has been doing this for quite some time on both radio and tv, but the left is just now catching up with him (probably because his ratings are through the roof.)  The video clip below, from Fox and Friends, gives a quick snippet of the “controversy”, but you can watch a longer clip from his show here.

From TV By The Numbers 8-26-09:

Though a little scandal might alienate advertisers, it’s pure ratings gold. Last night Glenn Beck had over 3 million viewers at 5pm, second only to O’Reilly for the night.  But, Beck had more 25-54 viewers than O’Reilly (888K to 876K).  I don’t watch or really even care about the cable news wars, but still…wow. Even though Beck airs before prime time,  when there are fewer people watching TV, he had the most 25-54 viewers in the cable news world for the night.

The most interesting point is that his guest that evening was was Rush Limbaugh so I’m sure that had something to do about the high ratings.  These ratings are of course not long term, just one night, but Becks numbers have been increasing for quite some time.   This is despite a multitude of advertisers dropping their ads from Fox News and an all out assault from the left-wing nuts.

I have always liked Glenn Beck.  He’s a little unhinged, but so am I, so I feel a kindred spirit.  I am unable to catch his show since it comes on at 4pm in the Midwest, but I occasionally catch his radio show.  I personally don’t care what the left pundits say or think about him, it won’t change my thoughts.  Sounds like millions of others don’t care about their opinions either.  Advertising follows numbers and they will trickle back as time goes on.  In this time of economic hardship, businesses can’t afford to be picky with their messenger because of a few activist groups.  The storm will pass and these linguini spined advertisers will come back in droves.

Of course, this is just my opinion.

Those Darn Racist Gun Owners

My interest is always peaked when gun issues or gun talk comes up, especially on MSNBC.  A “controversy” came up with some of their reporting on protesters outside a venue President Obama was speaking at last week.   The video below depicts selective clipping on the shots cropping out the top portion of the individual (who just happened to be a black gentlemen).  The truth about the person in the video carrying the gun would have gotten in the way of their analysis that this was a racial statement – white people carrying weapons outside an Obama event.   You pasty white racist homophobe honky rednecks!!!!!

To be totally fair and balanced, clips used on Rachel Maddow’s show did pan out on the individual carrying the so-called “assault” weapon.  The ensuing conversation was of no interest to me, but I’ll give her show props since her brethren did not have nearly as much balance (or what can be construed as balance on her show).

Now I have no doubt that some in America are upset that a black man is in the white house – but this is a fringe element.  )He did, afterall, get over 50% of the vote in this hostile racist country!)  Most that are opposed to President Obama are opposed to his policies and not the color of his skin.  These guys on MSNBC are idiots, plain and simple.

Of course, this is just my opinion.

Is Unemployment Really Down?

unemployment_cartoonWe recently heard President Obama tout the new unemployment figures as being 9.4 % – down from 9.5%.  Several news stories and pundits have expounded on the “real” unemployment figure being much higher.  The problem lies in the way that the government reports the unemployment figures – taking into account only those that are currently on unemployment with no mention of those who are not employed but not on government unemployment.

From The Street:

The official unemployment rate is determined by a body count. It does not differentiate between a person who works a full work week (nominally 40 hours), a reduced full-time work week (say 35 hours) and someone who works part-time (less than 35 hour per week). If the unemployment rate was calculated from total hours worked, the DOL data would produce an unemployment rate of 14.3%, defining a full work week as 40 hours. This is a decline from 14.5% for June.

Regardless of how this figure has been calculated in the past, and I fully assume that this is a normal way of doing things (meaning it probably was done the same way in the evil Bush administration) – it seems a bit misleading.   Don’t get me wrong, that rate going down is a great thing, but let’s not fool ourselves that things are better than they have been in the past.

The Heritage Foundation posted some interesting graphs back in 2004 to really dissect the unemployment rate.  The first chart shows the reported figures dating back to the late 70’s.   As you can see from the graph the highest spike in unemployment mimics downturns in the economy – not rocket science.

unemployment-graph

When you compare this graph superimposed with other items taken into account, it brings a little different picture to the plate.

unempcompare

From the Heritage Foundation article:

The unemployment rate is the preeminent measure of the intensity of labor demand. When the rate dips below what economists consider the “full-employment” rate of around 5 or 5.5 percent, then the labor market is likely overheating, driving up inflation.

But some critics contend the current (2004) low rate of 5.4 percent is a mirage because it neglects to include all the discouraged workers. The problem with that argument is the fact that BLS counts discouraged workers and even publishes an alternative “underemployment rate” called U-4, which is barely higher than the official rate. There are no more discouraged workers today then there were in the mid-1990s.

So what’s my point.  My point is that the problem of unemployment is a much greater problem that the government tends to tell us.  How many people dropped off the unemployment doles?  How many people are “really” out of work.   As I have stated many times before, I’m not an economist, just an observer.  A curious observer.

Of course, this is just my opinion.

The National Parks Are Racist!

Yes, I couldn’t believe it either.  How could all of those sweet and innocent National Parks be racist?  Yellowstone, Yosemite, Smoky Mountains….say it ain’t so!

According to this gentleman, evidently the only African American Park Ranger in the National Park System, blacks don’t visit the parks because of…..wait for it……wait for it……RACISM!

Now I really don’t think this is a racist issue dating back to the time of slavery in America.  To me this is more of a marketing issue – or lack thereof.  If you want to attract a particular group of people to your specific park, advertise to that group and convince them why they should take their time to visit.  It’s a revolutionary concept called PROMOTION.  Many businesses do it.  It’s not that hard.

I’m all for everyone visiting the National Parks.  They are beautiful and a national treasure.  I have not been to Yosemite or Yellowstone, but I plan on visiting both someday.  The United States has some of the most beautiful scenery in the world and thankfully long range thinkers like Thomas Jefferson and Teddy Roosevelt recognized the need.

To address this specific situation, I’m really sick of everything being about the “original sin” of slavery and if you decide to oppose that point of view then you are a racist.   I guess I’m a racist.  Didn’t know it, but I guess that is what it’s come to.

Why are more black people not visiting national parks?  Maybe they just don’t want to!  Novel concept I know, but it’s a possibility.

Of course, this is just my opinion.

That’s right, all of you dirty “teabaggers” (preferred term of the left wing nuts describing the Tea Party Protesters) should just go Flag Yourself.   Yes, the fancy government whistle blower program is still in effect to alert the jack-booted thugs (probably from the SEIU) that you don’t like the proposed government health plan, health insurance (or whatever it’s being called this week.)

Great video from Crowder and crew:

If you feel compelled, go ahead and send your email to flag@whitehouse.gov or fishy@whitehouse.gov.  Feel free to pass along my columns.  Make sure to include my picture with the email so the union thugs know who to drag away to the “Health Care Re-education” camps.

Town Hall Protesters Carrying Swastikas?

Evidently I have been watching the wrong coverage of all the Town Hall meetings occurring around the country over the past couple of weeks.  Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi says that these protesters are “carrying swastikas and symbols like that…”  Really Ms. Pelosi?  Show me the signs!

I’m sure this is just like the mantra those on the left are saying about the motivations of the protesters.   They just couldn’t be average citizens, there has to be some type of organization.  Maybe there are organizations that would like to organize the unheard masses that oppose government run  , but so what?  I’ve been to several protests around my area and I’ve never been approached to attend any event – even with this right leaning website I run.  Don’t you think I might be someone that would be used to rally support – if that was really the case?  It is my opinion that the only paid protest people are the Acorn folks.

What are these guys so afraid of? They have a majority in both houses of Congress – a super majority in the Senate and the White House.  They don’t need the Republicans (in theory) to pass anything they want.  Obama, Pelosi and Reid can ram through all they want until they are voted out of their positions.

These events show the elitism of those that are complaining and a disregard for the electorate.  What do those common folks about the intricacies of health care anyway?

Of course, this is just my opinion.

Health Care Opponents Beware – Obama Thugs May Come a Knockin’

jack_booted_thugsI found this interesting information on the RedState.com website.  It outlines a White House blog post titled “Facts are Stubborn Things.”    Here is the copy from the blog entry:

Opponents of health insurance reform may find the truth a little inconvenient, but as our second president famously said, “facts are stubborn things.”

Scary chain emails and videos are starting to percolate on the Internet, breathlessly claiming, for example, to “uncover” the truth about the President’s health insurance reform positions.

In this video, Linda Douglass, the communications director for the White House’s Health Reform Office, addresses one example that makes it look like the President intends to “eliminate” private coverage, when the reality couldn’t be further from the truth.

For the record, the President has consistently said that if you like your insurance plan, your doctor, or both, you will be able to keep them.  He has even proposed eight consumer protections relating specifically to the health insurance industry.

There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care.  These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation.  Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.

If you think I am just being my crazy self, feel free to check out the links above.  I guess I’ll be on the list.  Looking forward to the knock on my door from the Obama Gestapo to take me away to the soon to be created government health care reeducation camps.

Government Control at Cars.gov

I ran across this video from the Glenn Beck show and originally thought it was just an interesting talk about the “Cash for Clunkers” program and how well it was working.  The discussion took a different twist when Glenn and his guest, Kimberly Guilfoyle, started talking about a privacy statement that appears when a dealer logs into the Cars.gov system.  Here is the statement:

This application provides access to the DoT CARS system. When logged on to the CARS system, your computer is considered a Federal computer system and is the property of the U.S. Government. Any or all uses of this system and all files on this system may be monitored, recorded, copied, audited, inspected, and disclosed to authorized CARS, DoT, and law enforcement personnel, as well as authorized officials of other agencies, both domestic and foreign.

How scary is that?  What’s next, a Vulcan Mind Meld when you go to register that same car?

Have A Drink on Me!

beersummitMaybe I’m just a prude, but the President calling two people to the White House to have a beer so they can “get along” seems a little ridiculous and un-Presidential, especially when the “controversy” was perpetuated by Mr. Obama himself.  We all have heard his comments on the affair saying that the Cambridge Police acted “stupidly” when dealing with the incident.  Nice.  Commenting on something that involved a black individual and a cop must mean the cop is a racist, right?

If Obama would have kept his mouth shut until he actually knew ALLthe details this wouldn’t have been quite as big as it became.  The fact that he is black is immaterial.  The fact that he is an elitist Harvard Professor is immaterial.  The officer responded to a call, questioned Mr. Gates, Mr. Gates became beligerant, Mr. Gates was arrested.  Do you really think we would have heard about this if Mr. Gates was a pasty white fellow like myself?  I think not!

Well, here’s the audio of the 911 call that evening:

Call me an idiot, but I didn’t hear any racism in that call or from any of the interaction between Mr. Gates and the Police Officer that has been reported.  For crying out loud, there was a black officer present on the scene.  Don’t you think he would have raised a stink if there actually were some charge of racism?  Just a crazy thought on my part.

To the real point of this post, I don’t get the “Beer Summit” thing at the White House.  Don’t we have more pressing issues in this country?  I thought all this talk of racism was over now that we elected the first black President.  Guess not.

I can say that I would welcome an officer like Sgt. Crowley to my town.  He is calm, collected and fair minded in his approach to the situation

All I can think of…did they drink an American made beer (by and American beer company)?  Not unless it was Sam Adams.

Of course, this is just my opinion.

First Pitch Smackdown – Obama vs. Bush

I received an email from a charter member of the Rob’s Rant Revolution highlighting the difference between the first pitches of President Obama and President Bush.  Before you send me hate mail, this is just for fun – but very interesting if you like Baseball.

bush_firstpitch

President Bush – First Pitch

  • 2-Seam Fastball. Will cut down-and away. The typical strikeout pitch.
  • Power-T position before the throw. Generates hip drive for max. velocity.
  • Eyes on the target.
  • Pitching hand cocked back so batter can’t see ball during delivery.
  • Business slacks. He ain’t here to play, hes gonna break the catchers hand.

ASSESSMENT
Strike three – batter looking. Fastball looked inside coming towards plate then broke away on the inside corner.

________________________________________________________

obama_firstpitch

President Obama – First Pitch

  • Palm ball. Comes in slow and doesn’t move.
  • No Power-T. Right hand hanging down towards dirt.
  • Eyes and mouth show fear that a batter will actually be in there to knock it 603 feet..
  • Pitching hand open so batter can see ball during delivery.
  • Blue jeans? When they asked him to throw out the first pitch he wrote a speech.

ASSESSMENT
This ball will be hit so far it will need a flight attendant.
